When one of these two oil gallery seals fails and begins to leak, the engine's oil pressure can drop, which can lead to catastrophic engine failure. If you are seeing symptoms of low oil pressure, this may be the problem. Failure of these seals can lead to accelerated failure of the engine rods and further damage.

There are two oil gallery seals under the timing cover. It is always recommended to replace both seals. The recommended torque is 11 ft-lbs.
